What's new
- Cloud copy is now available to everyone: keep an encrypted copy of your data on a storage server and sync it between your devices. Set it up in Settings, or restore from it when you enter your seed phrase on a new device.
- Pull down the list in Messages or the Vault to sync with the cloud copy (Cmd+R / Ctrl+R on desktop).
- Cloud copy: changes go to the server right away, and after a sync a sheet lists which conversations and Vault records were added, updated or removed.
- Backup: the local autosaved backup file is gone (it did not survive deleting the app on iOS and never protected against losing the device), and so is keeping it in a third-party cloud (OneDrive, Drive, Dropbox and others). The copy outside the device is the cloud copy; you can still export a backup file manually from Settings > Data, and restore from one. While the cloud copy is off, a dot on Settings and Data reminds you that the data lives only on this device.
- Windows: the Vault's passkey banner now opens the Windows passkey settings directly so you can pick Secret Keeper as the provider.
- Vault search now finds folders too and opens them with a tap; on phones, search from the root looks through the whole Vault.
- Passkeys: a one-time offer to choose Secret Keeper as your passkey provider when you first open the Vault.
- Settings > Data: restore, export, sync and "Delete from cloud" are now list rows instead of buttons; tap "Last sync" to sync the cloud copy right away. On desktop the rows show their shortcuts.
- Errors are now shown as a message with a Close button instead of a disappearing notification.
- macOS: fixed a crash when resizing the window.
Coming from Tetatet Chat?
After installing, sign in with your seed phrase if you have used Secret Keeper before, or create a new account. Then return to Tetatet Chat: the pairing will continue on its own.

Install from the command line
Homebrew installs the same signed .dmg as above. Afterwards the app updates itself. Homebrew 6.0 and later asks you to trust a third-party tap once - that is what the brew trust line does.

Works with your other apps
Local apps can pair with Secret Keeper over IPC (unix socket / named pipe) and delegate encryption to it - keys never leave the vault. That is how the Tetatet Chat messenger integration works.
