Poet’s Corner | At A Time

At A Time

I feel your loss
You are not here
You’re in a there
A place I cannot be
At least not immediately

We have certain times
When we are called
Before it happens
We stay in the here
Or the there

Depending greatly
On which one
Is meant to be
We’ll reverse the order
And begin again

We belong in one
Or the other
But never
At the same time
Always alternating

Just like here
And there
Being different
We are only in one place
At a time

i carry your heart with me | a poem

[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]
by e.e. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why (Sonnet Xliii) | a poem

What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why (Sonnet XIiii)
by Edna St Vincent Millay

What lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why,
I have forgotten, and what arms have lain
Under my head till morning; but the rain
Is full of ghosts tonight, that tap and sigh
Upon the glass and listen for reply,
And in my heart there stirs a quiet pain
For unremembered lads that not again
Will turn to me at midnight with a cry.
Thus in winter stands the lonely tree,
Nor knows what birds have vanished one by one,
Yet knows its boughs more silent than before:
I cannot say what loves have come and gone,
I only know that summer sang in me
A little while, that in me sings no more.

Edna St. Vincent Millay

Music Chilling | a poem

Music Chilling

what is . is music
touching the soul . is passion
caressing flesh . inside | out
mind filling . aspects thrilling

the soul . sound killing
lighting heavens . pure | ecstasy
releasing spirit . free roaming
dancing . flowing . glowing

beyond the stars
beyond the light
beyond the darkness
beyond the galaxies
far . far . away
