Ronovan Weekly Haiku Writing Challenge: Start & Hot #62

A weekly Haiku writing prompt to inspire those who join along. It is like putting together a word puzzle carefully. It is enlightening. Meet new people. Discover a community who shares support. At the end of each challenge we hear from Ronovan on his interpretation of how we all succeed. Sometimes its a review with words of support and sometimes its a list of all the participants with LINKS to their Haiku. Oh, it is an awakening experience to read what others have created with the two words for each new weekly challenge. If you feel such inspiration. Go to the LINK Ronovan Writes Haiku… Join a growing community. It is exciting to look forward each Monday to the two new words and then figuring out how to mold them into a Haiku. – jk-tsk

“Awareness of…”

Careful What You Wish For by Mike Parillo #11

Awareness of the mind
Breaking thoughts free from inside
Courting freedom’s sound

Desire reflections
Effectively face new goals
Find the dreams returned

Great awakenings
Heart mind and soul combining
Infinite power

Jammed mind – blind thinking
Killer of the self – murder
Lose feeling to live

Mentor guides t’ward light
Numbness is all consuming
Opposite is life

Possible changes
Quietly meditating
Rational release

Study eyes’ blackness
Trips the pain sticking the heart
Under it is fear

Victory achieved
Waiting to scare ghosts away
X-rated thoughts – deep
Yesterday’s darkness – grabbing
Zapped by lightning – thunder roars

Which rightly should possess a poet’s brain.”

“Be Careful In Love”
By Madison Taylor
14th October 2008

Time measures moments
Once they are past the present
Touches inside deep

Remember backwards
Memories will go both ways
Sides will be taken

Love travels with you
Anywhere you want to go
Ride the Universe

You have Sophie’s Choice
Heaven or Hell Life or Death
Life’s Grande Illusion

Be careful in Love
Touch her soul gently at night
In dreams hold softly

Do not seek out Death
Soon enough the waiting ends
Whisper to the ghosts

Soundless to their ears
Though they be invisible
Ghosts are real they’re here

Avoid the Darkness

Avoid the darkness
Writing fights battles with dark
Failure to create loss dire

Encounter with void
Life-light-dark-death in peril
Soul’s demise loss imminent

Souls disintegrate
Free spirits need death to soar
Break connection with body

Heart’s felt mind’s thought ceased
Existence breaks down sinners
Creating keeps life living

Floating high down low
Dark circles webs cling to webs trap
Must write way out to return

Entering free fall
Escaped soul eaters captured
Soul’s light evil endangers

Artistic colours spread
Seeding the clouds of thunder
Lightning bolts jolt soul’s release

Rising Spirit
X-treme Haiku
By Jennifer Kiley
Friday 5th July 2013

Awakening words
Slow motion quick reaction
Waiting needs reassurance

Darkness echoes screams
Wails release in death’s lament
Hands pressing skull screaming ends

Time slips laughter starts
Responding smile vanishes
Forming balance bends sideways

Claw upward to view
Crash downward head cracks open
Bleeding wounded covers scars

Fucking words talking
Anger buried real nightmares
Shameful needs must want loving

Broken hearts longing
Vulnerability true
Joyful river flowing through

Awaken faith new
Heart touches soul love enters
Sweet song of rising spirit

Camille Saint-Saëns – Danse Macabre

“In that book which is my memory,
On the first page of the chapter
that is the day when I first met you,
Appear the words, ‘Here begins a new life’.”
― Dante Alighieri, Vita Nuova

“The mind which is created quick to love,
is responsive to everything that is pleasing,
soon as by pleasure it is awakened into activity.
Your apprehensive faculty draws an impression from a real object,
and unfolds it within you, so that it makes the mind turn thereto.
And if, being turned, it inclines towards it, that inclination is love;
that is nature, which through pleasure is bound anew within you.”
― Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy

“The more a thing is perfect,
the more if feels pleasure and pain.”
― Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy

“I found myself within a forest dark,
for the straightforward pathway had been lost.
Ah me! How hard a thing is to say,
what was this forest savage, rough, and stern,
which in the very thought renews the fear.
So bitter is it, death is little more…”
― Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy

“There is no greater sorrow
than to recall happiness in times of misery.”
― Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy

“When any of our faculties retains a strong impression of delight or pain,
the soul will wholly concentrate on that, neglecting any other power it has;
and thus, when something seen or heard secures the soul in stringent grip,
time moves and yet we do not notice it.” ― Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy

“Those ancients who in poetry presented the golden age,
who sang its happy state, perhaps, in their Parnassus,
dreamt this place. Here, mankind’s root was innocent;
and here were every fruit and never-ending spring;
these streams–the nectar of which poets sing.”
― Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy
