Love Actually | a movie trailer

Love Actually [extensive cast] Emma Thompson. Hugh Grant. Alan Rickman. & the list goes on.

My top favorite Christmas film. Love. Joy. Screwy & Screw-ups.

All of London is in love — or longing to be — in Four Weddings and a Funeral writer Richard Curtis’ first directorial effort. Billed as “the ultimate romantic comedy,” Love Actually involves more than a dozen main characters, each weaving his or her way into another’s heart over the course of one particularly eventful Christmas. The seemingly perfect wedding of Juliet (Keira Knightley) and Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor) brings many of the principals together, including heartsick best man Mark (Andrew Lincoln), who harbors a very unrequited crush on Juliet. There’s also recent widower Daniel (Liam Neeson), trying to help his lonely stepson Sam (Thomas Sangster) express his true feelings to a classmate. Across town, devoted working mother Karen (Emma Thompson) tries to rekindle the passion of her husband, Harry (Alan Rickman), who secretly pines for a young colleague of his. In the same office, the lonely Sarah (Laura Linney) not-so-secretly pines for a man just a few desks away (Rodrigo Santoro), who returns her affections but may not be able to dissuade her neuroses. Providing the unofficial soundtrack for all of the couples is an aging rocker (Bill Nighy) who just wants to cash in and get laid — but even he might find a meaningful relationship in the most unlikely of places. A working print of Love Actually premiered at the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival. ~ Michael Hastings, Rovi

Girlfriend | a music video

Girlfriend | Christine and the Queens

“Is it possible to be sexual, but to not be seen as an object? In her video “Girlfriend,” the French singer Héloïse Letissier — her body morphing between the male and female — is macho and defiant. She doesn’t offer her body: She flaunts it. The video is a glorious expression of the many selves mingling within us.” – NYTimes [Written by Gia Kourlas] Article & Video Clips ending with the video “Girlfriend” LINK

Song Lyrics:

I’m gone in a flick, but back in a second
With salted skin, rash for no reason
Boys are loading their arms, girls gasp with envy
F-f-for whom are they mimicking endlessly ?

Same old sadness in small lumps on my jaw
For lusting after is the usual freak show
May your girl come, birdie die under this spur
F-f-fingers angrily sunk on the jugular

Girlfriend
Don’t feel like a girlfriend
But lover
Damn, I’d be your lover

Yes sir, I am wet, for I abandoned my fame in the lake
Let’s see now how fast you’re breathing and how long this will all take
Those who used to pass by me think they are baffling a liar
F-f-fuck is you ? You don’t even taste much better !

Came back steaming in sweats in the morning
I muscled in for I wanted to hold him
Then shriveled to let those bird-dogs rage through
F-f-f is me ? f-f-fuck is you ? f-f-fuck is you now

Girlfriend
Don’t feel like a girlfriend
But lover
Damn, I’d be your lover

Touché, touché, touché, touché…

Brilliant piece of artistry. It will blow your mind. Highly recommend for your enjoyment and mindbending your view on sexual identity. – j.k
