Re-blog: Escaping the Cult: A Former Anti-Marijuana Advocate Smokes Weed for the First Time

An insightful journey . making it finally to the experience of using cannabis or as I just realized it truly is cannabliss © jk [a must use word I plan on dropping frequently] . it is an exceptional experience . I started using pot when I was 19 . it was the awakening of my mind & soul & accentuated my creativity . my life felt like it came alive.

I tried LSD [loved except for paranoia] . Mushrooms [a definitely Spiritual esperience .  went so far as to read the entire ‘Bhagavad Gita’ while tripping on Mushrooms . even drove to McD for a food fix for my partner & self] .  Cocaine [don’t like speed] . [once used heroin . no needles] . [did nothing for me] . it was Cannabliss which led to my joining the world.

Suddenly in early 1990 I stopped abruptly using pot . alcohol . caffeine . & cigarettes . instead i turned to pharma meds . huge error [era of my life] . they fucked up my head . i stopped them abruptly when the last one kept making me faint when I would stand up.

Five (5) years ago now . my doctor filled out the papers necessary to get my first Medical Marijuana [Cannabliss] License . the best thing to happen to my life . it brought me back to life . not b/c of just the high . but for the medical treatments . too many to mention here.

I thank the writer for putting together this piece . i found it well thought out & inspiring. As many as possible should read what has been written. And take it to the end for the phenomenal conclusion . My reblog quote says it all. – j.kiley

(reblog quote)”A brilliant examination of beliefs as they grow & change & the effects they have on altering one’s way of looking at themselves & the world. A great & must read.” – j.kiley

I hated marijuana my whole life, and I hated marijuana smokers.

Potheads. Stoners. Hippies. Burnouts. Junkies. Losers. Any mention of weed and I’d automatically conjure up these images — images of high schoolers lounging around their parents’ basements. Giggling and eating junk food. Doing absolutely nothing to improve themselves or the world around them.

At the time, I was Straight Edge, which meant I had a very hardcore set of beliefs. I was never going to drink alcohol. I was never going to try drugs. I even told myself I was never going to have premarital sex. (That’s hardcore!)

“No booze. No drugs. No sex.” That was my motto.

That was my shitty, shitty motto. I believed that simply trying any of those things would lead to abuse.

I believe everyone should find a belief system that works for them. If you’re happy…

Leningrad – Kolshik | a short film

The film opens with a woman singing an intense song in Russian. Cool! Goes well with the activity on the screen.

What an unusual experience. Don’t want to give any hints – just a glowing recommendation for film lovers who find originally to their taste. Also – recommend opening to full screen with sound up. Watch closely as the film progresses. Important to keep in mind a detailed recount of the action. ‘Leningrad – Kolshik’ and the song blend well as the tension and aghast minds in your head are being blow away. The singer infuses a passionate element to the building of the changing images occurring on the screen.

This film really trips my mind out. No idea what I was about to see could have prepared me for what was happening in the amazing visuals. Toking is advised but not necessary. Trip out is the word here. Have a majorly spellbinding experience. Hope it works for you. Short films do sometimes carry a wallop. Cheers. ‘It’s all just a ride.’

Soar!

1-soar_officialposterTwo people with huge differences. They come to terms with the surprise meeting and eventually realize they could work together. A strange pairing but willing to discover a problem to enable one to overcome and to move on with their challenge. It served as a solution to the resolution of both their understanding of their mutual situations.

2-soar-young-girlI don’t want to reveal too much but if you think of Antoine de Saint Exupéry, a famous pilot, an adventurer, and an author who gave us Le Petit Prince, His imagination is infused in the two young people, one a girl and the other the tiniest of boys and both love the idea of flying. He does and was part of a group of flyers until he crashes. Before he does, the young girl is trying everything from her drawing board to get her small plane to stay up in the air long enough to prove she had worked out the theory of flying herself, also.

3-soar-when-they-first-meet-the-girl-and-the-very-small-boyThe two meet. The wee one is reluctant and frightened by the girl, though she tries to convince him she is not going to harm him. The interaction and what transpires is a marvel to see. Differences do not have to be insurmountable. People when being sensible can turn out to be just what they were looking for. It works in SOAR. It was a matter of finding trust and believing untill success triumphs.

4-soar-girl-trying-to-help-wee-boy-to-fly-againTwo strangers actually making each other understand what they needed to solve; what they were needing and looking for. A friendship was being made without anyone’s awareness. It is possible for people from two different worlds to develop understanding and actual aid in the other’s reaching success through co-operation. A great example for children and adults to learn through the watching of the growing the tiny boy and the young girl succeed at reaching in SOAR. Watching this film is a delight and something special transpires and a gift is given at the end which will enrich the viewer and make us all smile.

5-soal-one-version-of-fixing-flying-vehibleThere is word mentioned in the writing below the film video, this film story may be made into a feature film. It won many awards for being one of the best short films. It is beautifully created. Animation at its best quality. Have fun watching. I did and feel whomever decides to take the journey in this short film will SOAR with excitement and will find great satisfaction. Watch it with a child if you know one. They will also love SOAR, I believe.. – j.kiley

‘Maggie the Cat’ | Roars & Purrs

New Year’s revolutions are my personal commitment to improve my life through effecting the alteration of my future goals, projects, habits, to anticipating the New Year and my growth with new beginnings. It’s my own revolutions as exhibited through my potential resolutions, it’s just I will attempt to do them with vigor.

Most commit themselves each year to New Year resolutions. A plan generally to last the whole year. These lifestyle changes are generally interpreted as advantageous but we all tend toward the impossible to achieve, setting us all up for a form of failure, not our intention. Never take attempts as failure, if success is not the result. Keep in mind the actual trying is the success. If the success succeeds at more than 20%, that’s amazing and is deserving of inner and outer praise. For all who meet the goals, (some – all – or many), applaud the accomplishments.

If New Year’s Resolutions aren’t a thing, than live life with wishes and limited restrictions. Hallelujah! Let Us All Be Free! It’s most important. Brave on into the Unknown and Hope for the Best of the GOOD (providing that is the preference).

My intention for the New Year 2017 is to work on writing in any of my choices of form, creating art, transforming my psyche, hoping for the improvement of my health (if possible),  and experimenting with a variety of changes in postings. I hope these will be enjoyable, thought provoking, entertaining, enlightening, fun, and always an element of serious & abstract thought and design, appearing fairly often.

Ideas I wish to explore, when possible, will include mental health issues, more specifically bipolar, children’s issues, pertinent issues in the news, film reviews and trailers, music videos, humor, or whatever is serendipitous. We’ll see.

Look for more experimentation in the New Year. maggie-the-cat-paw-print1Hoping it will be an experience for those who visit ‘the secret keeper’… feeling something, having a reaction (whatever it might be). – j.kiley 💖 ⏳ 💫
