INERTIA

“The inertia of the mind urges it to slide down the easy slope of imagination, rather than to climb the steep slope of introspection.” ― Marcel Proust

“In a separation it is the one who is not really in love who says the more tender things.” ― Marcel Proust

“In my cowardice I became at once a man, and did what all we grown men do when face to face with suffering and injustice; I preferred not to see them” ― Marcel Proust, Swann’s Way

  1. Such great quotes of a man who was honest and transparent about the human mind…in separation it is the one who is not really in love who says the more tender things…so true. To no longer be “in love” does not mean we do not love the person enough to help him/her through this difficult loss.
