Weekly Writing Prompt #10

Just wanted to leave a message to all who have been following the secret keeper. Update time:

Still in recovery and discovering it is impossible to write on the computer without spell-check. Wow!!! If you could count the stitches. They far exceed my expectations and how long they would leave me so weak. All is healing so slowly. Sunday, was the first day I could give my partner a slight rest. I took as many trips as I needed to get some ice water for my thermos,[ It keeps it chilled for two days], I also brought back a small can of Arizona Tea. It is so tasty. The part that didn’t go so well was cutting a bagel in half. I had three cats surrounding me. I saw a vision of red gushing from my left hand. That wouldn’t be surprise. But I was careful. Next was to the toaster. I don’t trust it, though it is practically brand new, but toasters just don’t know how to get the toast just right. And bagels should never burn at any setting but they do.

Once toasted I carefully stepped looking for something to put my hand on to steady. Got to the kitchen table, sat down, and took deep breath until I regained my balance. I had grabbed everything I needed to make a butter-toasted cream-cheese bagel half. I needed one more item, a sprite, and back to the living room and under the warmth of the blankets.

My parrot Saki ate half of one half and the half bagel and I forced myself to chew the other half of the half. Well, the food didn’t work. Haven’t had much of an appetite. My partner’s not happy but I lost 7 pounds in the past few day.

This week is doctors except tomorrow I am going on a trip to pick up so special meds. It is a long trip but my partner makes a picnic lunch. I do like small sandwiches. And drink lots of water.

On Thursday, I am going to give it a go at test driving. I want to see my therapist on Thursday. I haven’t seen since the day before my surgery on Weds. 28th October. It would be two weeks. For me that is a long time. She just got back from a long out time for having surgery. No contact. We have at least talked. Will see what happens.

I hardly touch the computer. I am writing this on WORD on my laptop.

I may do one of two things next: Say Goodnight and tell you I will post the (5) Words later in the day or I will try to find some magic and dream them. If I am able I will post them following this message either way. I may present the words in an altogether different manner.

Thank you for your understanding; this is unedited or proofed – just spell-checked.

  4. Another late arrival, I’m afraid.

    THE MIDNIGHT HOUR

    Invisible to these others
    Here above the operating table
The shine from my hovering spirit

    The two hands come together
As on the stroke of twelve
    The monitor screen flat lines

And a celestial quartet strikes up
A melody that only I can detect
    Chopin’s funeral theme
